Privacy Policy

Dear Tribologists!

The Austrian Tribology Society (“ÖTG”, ZVR 738691681, DVR 0560499) as a non-profit scientific association and working group for friction, wear and lubrication engineering fully respects the privacy of members, interested parties and contractors and, of course, also complies with the relevant legal obligations in accordance with Data Protection Regulation (DSGVO). In all the activities of our society that is governed by its by-law (actual version as from November 2015) we fully accommodate protecting individual privacy in the storage and processing of personal data.

I. Collection and use of data

The Austrian Tribology Society processes the data stored by it and relating to your person, professional position in particular to name, address, company affiliation, professional position, phone, fax, mail or mobile phone in regard to the society-specific, lawful purposes, for the proper handling of the respective activities, such as sending you information about various types of events (conferences, symposia, congresses, etc.), continuing education lectures and seminars, distribution of internal society news and offers for consulting services. Any use of your personal data, in case, above and beyond, as closer described under section II is carried out only with your prior consent voluntarily made.

II. Consent to the use of data for other purposes

You agree that the Austrian Tribology Society can pass the data stored by it and relating to your person – according the lawful purposes of the ÖTG, but only subject to the use for a determined reason as well as the prohibition of further dissemination and at the latest up to a revocation on your part as it arrives at the ÖTG –, to other relevant professional organisation and institutions in Austria and abroad, in particular to other Tribology societies. Such a transfer takes place only in the context of technical information, invitations to seminars and events, for notification of publications, as well as the sending of messages about the relevant scientific-technical community. This information can be done via e-mail, phone, fax or normal mail.

III. Right to revoke the consent of use and to information, correction, erasure or blocking of your personal data

You can at any time contact the Austrian Tribology Society with the prompt, to being informed about your personal data stored at the ÖTG and/or to insist on the rectification, erasure or blocking of these data. Furthermore, you can at any time – even without giving reasons and, anyway, without being charged by the ÖTG for this request – change or revoke your consent of use with effect for the future. We shall promptly remove your personal data from our address directory or mail distribution list.
A revocation to the use of your personal data for the purposes mentioned under section II will by no means influence possibly existing other contractual relationships with the Austrian Tribology Society.
